Upkeep & Care

of the Playground & Picnic Park

The Hebron Baptist Community Playground was established in 1998 when a committee was formed; using part of the Church property to create a Community Playground and Picnic Park for children and families to have a safe location to be active and build relationships after the loss of our local Hebron Elementary School.

Lawn mowing, whipper snipping, hedge trimming, painting, etc. is mostly done by volunteers but some tasks are beyond our volunteers availability.

Maintenance

With a Playground there are many things that need to be fixed! We work diligently to keep all parts of the Playground and Picnic Park clean & safe. Some projects require fixes and other projects require capital funds to replace or update the existing structures.

We greatly appreciate when people let us know if/when they spot something needing attention! Working together to keep things in tip top shape!

Small Equipment

for the Playground & Picnic Park

The Playground Committee uses funds to restock small equipment; basketballs, tricycles, frisbees, bubbles, trucks for the sandpit, etc.

We’ve also have had community members buy items and donate them for others to use while at the Playground.

Theft does happen but we encourage everyone to do their part in keeping our playground a safe & welcoming space.

Capital Projects

A priority of the Playground Committee from its inception has been to create a safe play space that is accessible to individuals of all ages, stages, and mobility requirements. This has been at the forefront of all stages of planning to encourage movement and inclusivity for all members in a family and our community.
